What I’m Reading for the Week of August 10-16, 2020 | Weekly Reading Plans #5

Welcome back to Reading, Reading, Reading!

I have recently been realizing that while I share my book reviews and ratings on my blog, my Bookstagram account is often the place where I share what I am currently reading. However, I want to change that and bring back my Weekly Reading Plans posts! I have not done one of these since 2015, and you can read that post here (it is a tad cringe worthy…).

Ever since the month of July, I have been reading a lot of books and at an incredibly fast pace. Over the past few days, I have been taking my reading very slowly and have been focusing on one long book (which you will see in just a second!), which I have been LOVING. Slowing down my reading and taking my time with the story has been so great, as I find myself thinking about the characters more and connecting with them a lot better.

The book I have been slowly reading is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Funny enough, this book was featured in a WRP post in 2014! Believe it or not, I have only ever read bits and pieces of this book over the past several years. I think when I picked this book up in 2014, I was a bit too young and did not appreciate the story or writing style as I am right now. When I picked this book up at the end of last week, I was in the mood to read a historical fiction novel – which is a genre I don’t think I’ve read from since 2015! I am so happy that I decided to pick this book up, and plan on finishing it today (Monday)!

After TBT, I plan on reading The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. Ever since I have been on my mystery/thriller book, I have been neglecting my unread adult romance books. The last romance novel I read was Beach Read, and as of right now, that book is #2 on my Best Books of 2020 list! I have super high expectations for this novel, as everyone and their mother (including my own!!!) has read this one and absolutely adored it!

The last book I hope to read this week is The Night Swim by Megan Goldin. I pre-ordered this book back in July, and it came in the mail a few weeks ago. I love mystery/thriller novels that have a tech trope in it, and this one features a podcast! I have read some stellar reviews on this novel, and hope I love it as much as I have been loving a lot of other new mystery/thrillers lately!

Those are the books I hope to read over the next seven days! What are you reading plans for this week?

Friday Reads {03/15/19}

Welcome back to Reading, Reading, Reading!

Since I posted my most recent post (click here if you missed it), I have read two full books! Even though it took me ten days to get back into reading, I have found my groove again! Since I need to catch up on a lot of ARCs/backlist titles I was planning on reading earlier in the month, I thought it would be fun to share my weekend reading plans with you. While this may seem quite ambitious, I have found myself reading over 200 pages every night for the past few days, so if that trend continues then it should not be to hard to read at least two of these books over this weekend. I cannot even remember the last time I posted a “Friday Reads” post, so I hope you enjoy this “blast from the past”!

img_1138

The first book I plan on reading this weekend is “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I started this one last night and am enjoying it so far! I have never heard so many fantastic reviews of a book until I started hearing about this one, so I hope it lives up to all of the hype!

img_1050

The next book I plan on reading is “The Hiding Place” by C.J. Tudor. When I featured this one in a previous post, a lot of you told me that you had read it and enjoyed it, so I hope this one lives up to the hype as well! Thanks to Penguin Random House Canada for sending me a finished copy of this book!

img_0932

The last book I hope to at least start this weekend in “Hamartia” by Raquel Rich. Raquel sent me a copy of her book in exchange for a review, and I was planning on reading it last week, but since I got sick I wasn’t able to. I read a bit of it and am enjoying it so far, so I plan on reading it either this weekend or at the beginning of next week!

Those are the three books I hope to read in three days! I hope I finish at least one of them and read a good chunk of another one! What are your reading plans for this weekend?!

Winter Break Vacation 2018 Reading Plans

Hi everybody and welcome back to Reading, Reading, Reading!

In just a few days, I will be going on my winter vacation! Believe it or not, I’ve never gone on a winter vacation during my winter break, so I’m super excited that my family and I are going on one this year!

While I will not have a ton of down time during this trip, I will still have lots of time to read on the airplane and on various car/bus rides. Therefore I plan on reading a few books during this holiday.

The first book I plan on reading is “Looker” by Laura Sims. I received an ARC from Simon and Schuster Canada and am really looking forward to reading it. This book is less than 200 pages, so it’s a perfect short plane read.

The next book I plan on reading is “The Field Guide to the North American Teenager” by Ben Philippe. Ashley from Harper Collins Canada recommended this book to me and sent me an unsolicited ARC of it. I am super excited to read this book and seems like something I will really enjoy! My full review will be up during the beginning of January, right around the release date.

The last book I plan on reading is “Golden State” by Ben H. Winters. I received this book on NetGalley via HBG Canada, and am really looking forward to reading this. I have read the first few pages, and it already seems SO interesting!

Those are all of the books I plan on reading during my winter vacation! I know this list is full of ARCs, but I’m trying to read all of my January ARCs now, so I can make a big reading dent in my TBR shelf throughout the entirety of January.

Are you guys going on a winter vacation this month? Let me know, I’d love to hear what you plan on reading and where you are going!

Weekly Reading Plans

Hey guys!

Sorry for being MIA! I have had so much home work and a test every week or so! I’m going to schedule a few new blog posts for the next few days so you guys aren’t hanging for a new one!

Aswell if you read the blog post that I posted last week, it said that I’m starting a new blog but I have deleted that as I’m now going to continue working on this one only and try to improve it as much as I can.

I have a few books that I have to complete to work on a “book genres” project, so I have chosen these to read for it!

Biography:
I’m planning on reading a Helen Keller biography by Leslie Garett. I have had this book for quite a while, but have not read it. So, I thought this was the perfect time to read it!

Fiction:
For this genre I’m going to be reading 172 hours on the moon! Did you know that this book was translated from another language into English? To find out about the book and more interesting facts about it watch JesseTheReaders video on it! Click here to watch it: JesseTheReaders Review.

Realistic Fiction:
For this genre I have chose, The Book Theif by Marcus Zusak! One of my favourite booktubers, Catorina (from LittleBookOwl) has a raving review on it, that I promise will convince you to read it! Click here to watch it: LittleBookOwls Review.

That’s it for tonight’s blog post!
Love you guys!

Good Night Book Lions!

Friday Reads {08/15}

Sorry for not posting everyday this week! I tried to think about posts that are easy to write but I just got my braces on ad let’s just say they are very uncomfortable. Although, to make up for that I have a book review that is going up tomorrow, so look out for that!

This weekend, all I plan on reading is Entwined by Heather Dixon. Entwined, is a fairytale retelling of my all time favourite fairytale: The Twelve Dancing Princesses.

I will probably end up finishing this during the Bout of Books 11.0 readathon, which starts this Monday (August 18). I will be posting my TBR for this readathon on Sunday!

That’s it for today!

Good Night Book Worms!
