Who is your least favorite hero-esque character and why?

Probably Tris’s brother from Divergent, Caleb. He annoys me so much!

It’s getting really good… but after I’m finished with this one I will definitely be picking up a cutesy contemporary!

Next and finale, I plan on reading A Step Toward Falling, as I signed up for a blog tour for this book, and want to read it just incase I get chosen to participate!

Sorry if this TBR has been short, I haven’t really been in an awesome reading mood, so I figured that 2 books would be good!

Let me know what you plan on reading in the comments below!

Swoon Worthy Saturday {08/15}

Hi everyone,

Saturday is a day for swooning. Swoon Worthy Saturday is a weekly meme where in we present a fictional boy who has swept us off our feet, given us butterflies, made our heart do acrobatics and driven us absolutely crazy! (Hosted by StayBookish)!

Ansel Elgort is a famous actor, that us as bookworms love, as a star in a YA movie! We loved him in The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent!

He just looks like someone who you’d want to sit down and chat with, I always enjoy those kinds of people!

Let me know who you are swooning this Saturday in the comments!

Alyssa Searches Search Terms #1

Hi everyone!

Today, I am writing my first installment in my new series “Alyssa Searches Search Terms”! I love reading Ashley’s version, so I had to create my own! Credits to her for the awesome idea!

Alyssa Searches Search Terms is a series where I will be going through my search terms (6 per post) used on my blog, and be reacting/responding to them. For a few, I may answer them correctly but for the others I will be kind of “sassy”. The search terms are not modified and are exactly as searched in the search box. This should be fun! Let’s get started!

  • book tower challenge questions

1.) A first book in a series.
2.) A second book in a different series.
3.) A book with blue on the cover.
4.) A book that’s title is 7 letters long. No more, no less.
5.) A book you’ve never read.
6.) A book with the sky on it.
7.) An author with the same first letter of their forename as yours (for me that would be J for Joel eg. J.K Rowling).
8.) A classic.
9.) A non-fiction.
10.) A book with four or more colours on its spine.
11.) A book that says “#1 New York Times Bestseller” on the front… yes these are very precise things you need to find.
12.) The smallest (smallest width and length, not just by pages) book on your shelf.
13.) The latest book you bought (if you bought more than one at once, just pick one of those at random).
14). A book that has a cover with a face on it.
15.) A spin-off book.
16.) A book that was published over 10 years ago.
17.) A book with a sequel coming out next year.
18.) An author who has got the same first letter of their forename as their surname.
19.) A book with an epilogue.
20.) And lastly, a book that has a title that features a made up word.

Liebster Award #4!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my 4th Liebster Nomination! I can’t believe that I’ve been nominated 4 times! I love this award, because each time there are new questions to answer! Thanks to ma girl Aneta for the nomination!

liebster-award-rules (1)

1. What is your dream career?
I want to become an elementary school teacher! I am in English major, so of course I want to teach English/Literacy! I’ve wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in Grade 2, so I don’t think my dream will be changing any time soon, or ever!
2. Favourite place you’ve visited?
Walt Disney World!
3. Do you have a favourite blog?
Yes, although I love a ton of blogs! I love Alina, Amy, Ashley and Aneta! All A’s (btw PLL last night?!), haha!
4. What is your biggest fear?
I don’t really have a general biggest fear, but I have a few personal ones that no one no’s.
5. Favourite scary movie?
Hmmmm, probably My Daughter’s Secret. Although, it’s more of a weird murder mystery type.
6. Favourite book you would recommend to others?
Of course, The Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer. Also, next July (2016) when the last one will come out, I will be doing an entire Land of Stories themed month!
7. Do you have a secret talent?
Well, many members of my family still don’t know I blog, so I guess blogging (does that count?)?
8. What is your biggest problem/challenge when it comes to blogging?
I used to be good at scheduling posts, but now I’m kind of slacking! BOO.
9. What book character best resembles you?
Alex from The Land of Stories. A book worm outcast. HAHA!
10. Any bad habits?
Not being social because- Reading/Blogging>People.- Oops!
11. What is the most watched movie/DVD in your collection?
I love Beauty and the Beast and The Hunger Games!

Those were all of the questions! Thanks again to Aneta for the nomination and non-complex questions!

I don’t have anyone to nominate, but feel free to answer the questions I have previously asked!

HCC FRENZY PRESENTS EXPERIENCE/RECAP 2015!

Hi everyone!

Today, I’m coming at you with a very requested post, which is my HCC Frenzy 2015 experience/recap!

The day started off with my mother and I heading to the subway station, en route to the Frenzy Presents event!

Once there, we sat in the little lobby area and filled out a very cute name tag!

After meeting all of the other bloggers, we took out spots around the meeting table and screen, to watch the presentation featuring the HCC Girls’ favourite books coming up in Fall/Winter of 2015!

IMG_1097-0

Instead of talking about each and every book, I took pictures of all of the slides, which you can enter the title of and find out the summary on goodreads! If you have questions about a title or author, please comment down below and I will answer your comment shortly!

Those were all of the books they talked about! They all looked AMAZING and I plan on requesting several of the ARC versions for review!

IMG_1154

As always, HCC was kind enough to give us a ton of books in our swag bags! The girls were nice enough to allow my mom to take one as well, as I took her with me! Sadly, I had a whole portion talking about the books I got, but I stupidly deleted it! RRRRRRR. Here is a list of the books I received:

  1. City Love
  2. Paperweight
  3. The Unquiet
  4. Ice and Fire
  5. A Step Toward Falling
  6. The Rest of Us Just Live Here

They also included a TON of cute swag, which I may or may not be giving away for hitting 100 followers… Stay tuned!

After the presentation, they allowed us to explore the meeting room and take pictures, so that’s what I did!

IMG_1117-0

I took a picture with a giant cardboard cut out of The Rest of us Just Live Here, as that was probably the book I was most excited about!

IMG_1122-0

They supplied us with a ton of yummy treats to eat, which was so nice of them!

IMG_1120-0

IMG_1121-0

IMG_1124-0

They also had some interesting books on display, both YA, NA and Adult!

IMG_1119-0

By the way, the view from their office is absolutely spectacular!

After the event was over, my Mother and I said our goodbyes, and I bought myself a Cotton Candy Frappuccino (typical.)!

Overall, the event was so much fun and I’m so happy I got to meet a lot of other awesome book lovers! Afterall, as Suman said “Book friends are the best friends.”

Thank you again to Harper Collins Canada and HCC Frenzy for inviting me to this amazing event! I’ll for sure be back again next year!

I hope that you guys enjoyed my Frenzy Presents 2015 Experience!

Liebster Award #3!

Hi everyone!

Yes, my 3 liebster award nomantion! The 4 will be coming on Wednesday, haha!!

This time around I was nominated by the lovely Tori! I absolutley love all of the questions, since they are not bookish related, haha!

Award Rules:

  • Display the Liebster Award logo on your blog post (or blog if you want)
  • Thank and link the person who nominated you
  • Answer the questions given and then come up with 10 of your own to ask your nominations
  • Nominate and link to 8 or more more other blogs (try to make it people who haven’t yet been nominated)

1. Why did you create your blog? When did you start it?
I created my blog to share my love of reading (and the internet) to those who love it as well! I created my blog almost 2 years ago on December 8, 2013!
2. Other than reading, blogging, and watching tv, how do you fill your time?
I love to watch YouTube videos on my iPad mini, or make friendship bracelets in the summer time!
3. As pleased as you are about this nomination, do you wish I hadn’t nominated you? Go ahead. Be honest. This award is a lot of work.
Absolutely NOT! I love doing Liebster awards, as they differentiate every time you do them! People give you different questions then the last time you did it, which is really cool!
4. Has blogging created a community around you that you never expected? Or are you a [wo]man on an island surrounded by a sea of blog posts?
Absolutely, as you read this I am most likely at HCC’s “Frenzy Presents” (experience/recap post will be up on Tuesday), and I can’t believe that I will have the opportunity to meet a ton of other bloggers who do exactly what I do and love!
5. Can you list all 50 states alphabetically?
Nope. I’m from Canada.
6. My blog is directly related to my day job—what do you do for a living? Is it reflected in your blog?
I am a full time student (and Blogger and Reader of course)!
7. Quick decision: Friends or Seinfeld?
FRIENDS!
8. Are you a roadtripper? Do you use maps or just go where the road takes you? Where was your last adventure?
Not really, but I do love to explore around my city! I recently went to an event at the Pan Am Games, which was loads of fun!
9. How do you spend your Sundays?
Pre-Scheduling the upcoming weeks’ blog posts!
10. Can you juggle?
NOPEEEEE!
11. What is the one saying your grandparents always said that stuck with you?

“Don’t Say that!” (In Yiddish)

So, that was it for the 3 Liebster Nomination!

I seriously have nobody to nominate and have no questions to ask… OOPS!

Thanks again for the nomination, Tori!
