5-Star Predictions Summer 2019

Welcome back to Reading, Reading, Reading!

A few months ago, I posted my Spring 2019 5-Star Predictions, and everyone seemed to really enjoy it (especially when I reflected on it here)! So, I have decided to continue doing it for every season, and since summer is basically already upon us, I thought it would be fun to do it for this upcoming season!

If you didn’t read my previous 5-star predictions, here is some more info about it:

In each 5-star predictions post, I will be sharing my Top-Five 5-star predictions from new ARCs/new releases/back list books I plan to read during a specific season that I have in my possession that I think will be 5-star reads! I will try to make one 5-star prediction post for every season, especially since I already have some 5-star predictions for the season of Summer! After I have read all 5-books that I mentioned in this post, I will make a recap post and share if these books were, in fact, 5-star reads or not (although, if you constantly read my posts, then you will most likely see reviews of all of these books over the next few months, so you will know if it was a 5-star read in advance!).

The 5-star predictions featured below are put in an order from which one releases first, second, and so on, since that is the order I will most likely read them in.

My first 5-star prediction of the Summer is SCREEN QUEENS by Lori Goldstein. This is my MOST anticipated release of 2019, and I cannot wait to read it! I am writing this post a week in advance, but by the time you are reading this, I most likely have already read it and my full review should be going up in a couple of days. Thanks to Penguin Teen Canada for the ARC!

The next book I believe I will rate 5-stars is LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE by Celeste Ng. Even though this book came it quite a while ago, it is still massively popular and highly rated. Penguin Books just released the paperback edition of this novel, which you can see  in the photo above. I am SO excited to read this one, and hope that it lives up to my expectations!

At the beginning of July, WE WALKED THE SKY by Lisa Fielder is set to release. I received an ARC of this one from Penguin Teen Canada, and I am really looking forward to reading it! The synopsis sounds super intriguing and beautiful, and I hope this book gets a 5-star rating from me!

If you haven’t heard of WILDER GIRLS by Rory Power over the past few months, you may not be as active in the YA book community as you thought! This book has been getting a ton of rave reviews, even though it doesn’t come out until mid-July! This book is supposed to be a female “Lord of the Flies” retelling, and I loved LOTF when I read it last year, so I am very intrigued to see what will happen in the book!

The last book I predict I will rate 5-stars this summer is HIM by Clare Empson. I received an ARC of this book from Hachette Book Group Canada, although I believe it has already been out for sometime in the UK… or this is an ARC of a new paperback edition, I’m not exactly sure. Regardless, the front cover and synopsis have me extremely intrigued!

  1. Oh love this post! I need to do ones of these! Such a good idea! I am totally anticipating Wilder Girls to be a five star for me as well. I think I will be crushed if not – it just sounds so freaking awesome.

  2. This is such a great post! I’ve only read Little Fires Everywhere myself (which was good, but not a 5 star read for me), and I have Wilder Girls high on my TBR… I hope you will enjoy these!

  3. A few of these were already on my TBR, and regardless, they all look good. I hope they’re all AT LEAST 4 stars for you, if not the 5s you predict!

  4. The only one I’ve heard of here is Wilder Girls. I hope you manage to have lots of 5 star reads this summer.
