Alyssa’s Reviews – Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

Dorothy Must Die Book Review (SPOILER-FREE)

Hey guys!

I recently participated in the “Let’s Kill Dorothy” read along started by a whole bunch of amazing book tubers! I finished this book about 2 and a half weeks ago and absolutely loved it! I gave it a 5/5 star rating on goodreads!
Let’s get started with the review!

Synopsis (in my own words):
This book is about a girl named “Amy Gumm” and her adventures is OZ (sound familiar). She knows everything about OZ that any girl from Kansas would know but it’s not as she remembers it! They say Dorothy came back to OZ and ruined it with all of her dark magic!

Plot Line:
I thought this plot was so unique! I have never heard anything like it! The whole twist on how OZ is demolished and Amy is the “other” girl from Kansas was absolutely genius!

Characters:
I chose my 3 favorite characters.
Amy- I loved Amy and her personality. Sometimes she annoyed me with the decisions she made but most of them ended up helping her in the process.
Ollie- Ollie was probably my favorite character. He was so cute and his story made me tear up. I loved how Ollie came back in the ending (not a big spoiler, don’t worry). I’m so looking forward for more of Ollie’s character development in the next 2 books in the trilogy.
Indigo- Indigo was had a big attitude for such a “little” person (please don’t take that offensively). She was very harsh at the beginning but grew on Amy as they ventured.

Setting:
The setting reminded me of “Old” OZ but with a brand new twist! It was awesome!

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Hope you guys enjoyed this review! More book reviews are coming soon!

Good Night Book Worms!
