Number ten is plastered on his team jersey and on his ego. In his own mind, Crown Sterling is the shit. He dates the prettiest women, he dominates on the soccer field, he pours money out of his pockets like it’s water. Until a debilitating knee injury puts him out of commission on and off the field. He’s sent to an isolated town in Louisiana to recoup, undergo physical therapy and heal. But it’s when you’re down that you find out who your real friends are, and what they value in you, if anything at all. All Lyra wants out of life is peace and quiet. She grew up with a regular, everyday family. When she turned sixteen, rummaging through her grandmother’s hope chest in the attic, she discovered a secret that would turn her simple, normal life into a ball of chaos that revolved around her. But while she seems to face her fears head on in her career, she lives a life that’s secure and well hidden. A new neighbor moved in next door and he’s decided that everyone needs to listen to his rap music, shattering Lyra’s quiet existence. Enraged, she stomps to the next townhouse over and who should open the door but a man whose good looks and charming smile knock her breathless.

How good looking? Just ask him.
How charming? He’ll tell you that too.
The king must be dethroned.
And a small town girl who’s been through hell is just the one to do it.

Currently Reading (06/13)!

Hi Everyone!

Today, I will be sharing the with you what I am currently reading, and what I will be reading for the week ahead!

I’m currently in a middle grade mood, so I thought that this book would be perfect! This book doesn’t  come out until OCTOBER! But, I was graciously sent this book by Penguin Canada to read and review, and it looks like a good one!

This book came out last month, and I’m pretty excited to read it, although it sounds more Adult than Young Adult. I was sent this book by my team at Simon and Schuster Canada to read and review, and I will be doing just that!

I hope that you guys liked seeing what I will be reading! Let me know in the comments below what you will be reading, too!

Why my Book Blog is Much Different Than Everyone Else’s

Hi everyone!

Today, I thought that I would post about why my book blog is much different than everyone else’s!

  1. I POST DAILY (or at least I try)

Over the past months since December, I have posted EVERY SINGLE DAY! I do this to provide a lot of content for you all to read, and to know that if you are ever board, you can hop on over to my blog and find a new post!

    2. I INCLUDE LIFE POSTS TOO!

On my blog, I sometimes include life posts (with TONS of pictures), to show you if I’m doing something fun for the day! Some may not be very bookish, but they’re always really fun to make!

    3. I DIY ITEMS TO MAKE THEM BOOKISH!

Many of my most viewed blog posts are my DIYs! I have DIYes BookMarks, Mugs and soon I will be making T-Shirts!

Those are the Top 3 reasons why my book blog is much different than others! If you’d like to see 3 more reasons, let me know in the comments!

Alyssa’s Reviews – Three Day Summer by Sarvenraz Tash (ARC)

Hi everyone!

Just a quick note before we start, there is an issue with the computer I post from, so these posts will be coming from my iPad, sorry! Also, I’m trying to get back on my daily posting schedule, so I have pre scheduled a ton of stuff! Next week should be SUPER FUN!

Now for the review…

A copy of Three Day Summer by Sarvenaz Tash was sent to me for review from Simon and Schuster Canada, this does not persuade my opinions on this book, as all are mine.

Summary:

Michael is unsure about most things. Go to college? Enlist in the military? Break up with his girlfriend? All big question marks. He is living for the moment and all he wants is a few days at the biggest concert of the summer.

Cora lives in the town hosting the music festival. She’s volunteering in the medical tent. She’s like that, always the good girl. But there is something in the air at this concert and suddenly Cora finds herself wanting to push her own boundaries.

When Michael and Cora meet, sparks fly, hearts race, and all the things songs are written about come true. And all the while, three days of the most epic summer await them…
Review:

Look at this COVER! Even from the cover you expect (or in my case, hope) that this book will be amazing. Besides, a festival on a farm in the 80’s, what could be better?

The beginning Half of this book was SO slow. Basically, the first 200(ish) pages were in a medical tent… Cora disobeyed her father, while Michael was ignorant and took Brown Tab Acid… What could be a better way to start off this novel? Anything else.

Although, the last 150(ish) pages definitely made up for it! Once Michael and Cora started really knowing eachother, it was evident that they would fall in love! Even though they just met eachother, their chemistry was beautiful to read and look at.

The end of the book was a bit of a tear jerker for me… It was just that good! When Michael has to go out of her town and back to his own, he promises her something… But if you want to know what that promise is, pick up this book!

Overall:

This book was quite the rollercoaster for me, and although I didn’t love the first half, I’d still recommend it’s! 3.75/5 stars.

I hope that you guys liked this book review! Thanks to Simon and as Schuster Canada for providing me with great books!

Good Night Book Owls!

I AM AN IDIOT.

Hi everyone,

At this current moment in time I am in such a bad mood, you have NO IDEA. So, basically, I wanted to switch my URL to https://readingandplanning.wordpress.com, so I did but right after I did that I knew I made a mistake. I DIDN’T press the “permanently delete this site URL”, so I thought that I could just fix it. But, it didn’t work and I STILL don’t know how to do it. Once I figure it out, I will change it to the original URL.

For now, the closest thing I could get was “readingreading…” instead of “readingreadingreading…”. Hopefully, I will find out how to fix my URL soon, but for now it will be just Reading, Reading. I can’t really make up my mind if I like this new one better, as it is shorter. I will STILL be calling my Blog Reading, reading, READING, because for all I am concerned, it will forever be that.

I hope that if any of you know how to fix it you will please tell me, and I will honestly love you FOREVER. If the process may take long, use the Contact Me form on the “Contact Me” page, and I will get back to you ASAP.

To sum it all up, I AM AN IDIOT.

Erin Condren Order Details!

Hi everyone!

So, yesterday I posted a link to get $10 off your first purchase with Erin Condren, and a lot of you wanted to see what I bought! So, that’s what I am going to share with you today!

TODAY on Tuesday June 9, 2015, the 2015-2016 Erin Condren Life Planners came out, so I decided to purchase my first one ever!

This is the lifeplanner I bought, I purchased the one with the July 2015- December 2016 option, and it was $5.00 on top of the $50.00 that they cost. I know it may seem expensive but it’s well worth it!

I then ordered an additional cover because I really wanted a cover with a quote. This is a new quote for the 2015-2016 life planners! The covers are interchangable, so you can order multiples and reuse them every year! Plus, they are only $10.95!

I also ordered CoilClips! These attach papers that don’t come into the planner, and they attach them by the rigid edge which snaps right onto the coil just like the interchangeable covers! One pack is $7.00 for 12, and an additional one comes in the back of every planner if you want to test them out first. I ordered all of the items I want for this upcoming year at a time, as shipping outside of the USA is $19.99, and I am in Canada!

The last thing I bought were these elastic bands. They come in a pack of 3 for $7.00 and you can choose your colour scheme that will match your main cover best!

Overall, my order was $99 after shipping, so I couldn’t use the $9.95 international shipping code :(. I also had an issue with the $10 off your first order code that I recieved, so they just took of $10.00 off of my credit card.

I am SUPER excited to feed my planner addiction with these planners! Let me know if you want to see an unboxing of my planner when I get mine, and I will for sure do that!

Don’t forget to use my $10 off your first purchase referral code, when you buy your first one! This link never expires, but once you sign up and activate the code, the code will be active for 30 days until you use it!
