2015 Year In Review: Most Disappointing Books of 2015

Hi everyone!

Today is the first time in a LONG TIME where I’m actually posting the proper post on the proper day! As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been catching up on my posts so for the last few days I’ve published almost 4 posts a day but dated them different days… Oops! Anyways, I was looking for something to post today and I came across a post that I did last year about the most disappointing books of 2015. I don’t like to be a “Debbie Downer”, but I thought that it would be kind of fun to write this post, just to voice my opinion and say that not every book I read is 4 or 5 stars!

You can read last years post here!

So, today I’m going to share with you my top 3 most disappointing books of 2015…

  1. Kissing In America by Margo Rabb.

This book has excellent ratings and I thought I was going to love it… turns out this is the worst book I have ever read, and I’ve read a lot of books. I received this book from HarperCollins Canada and it was my first book I’d ever received from them. I felt so bad that I hated it, and didn’t end up reviewing it. Now that I’m a lot more comfortable with them, I figured I would share this with you now! I ended up giving this book 0/5 stars. I hated the setting and all of the characters. Especially the whiny emotional wrecked “bee” (what do you think I mean…) Eva, the protagonist. UHHH I hate even thinking about this book!

2. Red Scarf Girl by Ji-Li Jiang

This book has been out for a while, and I ended up reading it for school. The fact that I read it in school has NOTHING to do with my opinion of it. In fact, the other 2 books I’ve read for school have been amazing! These include Night and Stargirl! I really didn’t like this book because the story line was not very good. Once the book ended up picking up the pace, there were only 20 pages left! I still had a lot of un-answered questions, and I was very upset about it.

3. The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige

Don’t get me wrong, I love Danielle Paige and Dorothy Must Die, but this book was not very good. I still gave it a decent rating (3/5 stars), but it was very boring and didn’t really answer any questions I had about the previous book. I hope the 3 one that comes out in early spring really picks up and I end up loving it!

  1. Aw, that’s a shame about Kissing in America because I’ve been intrigued by that book. But I have seen a lot of mixed reviews about it. I didn’t have many dud reads this year at all. A few I think fell flat after all the hype, but generally all was good 🙂

    Happy New Year!
