Liebster Award #3!

Hi everyone!

Yes, my 3 liebster award nomantion! The 4 will be coming on Wednesday, haha!!

This time around I was nominated by the lovely Tori! I absolutley love all of the questions, since they are not bookish related, haha!

Award Rules:

  • Display the Liebster Award logo on your blog post (or blog if you want)
  • Thank and link the person who nominated you
  • Answer the questions given and then come up with 10 of your own to ask your nominations
  • Nominate and link to 8 or more more other blogs (try to make it people who haven’t yet been nominated)

1. Why did you create your blog? When did you start it?
I created my blog to share my love of reading (and the internet) to those who love it as well! I created my blog almost 2 years ago on December 8, 2013!
2. Other than reading, blogging, and watching tv, how do you fill your time?
I love to watch YouTube videos on my iPad mini, or make friendship bracelets in the summer time!
3. As pleased as you are about this nomination, do you wish I hadn’t nominated you? Go ahead. Be honest. This award is a lot of work.
Absolutely NOT! I love doing Liebster awards, as they differentiate every time you do them! People give you different questions then the last time you did it, which is really cool!
4. Has blogging created a community around you that you never expected? Or are you a [wo]man on an island surrounded by a sea of blog posts?
Absolutely, as you read this I am most likely at HCC’s “Frenzy Presents” (experience/recap post will be up on Tuesday), and I can’t believe that I will have the opportunity to meet a ton of other bloggers who do exactly what I do and love!
5. Can you list all 50 states alphabetically?
Nope. I’m from Canada.
6. My blog is directly related to my day job—what do you do for a living? Is it reflected in your blog?
I am a full time student (and Blogger and Reader of course)!
7. Quick decision: Friends or Seinfeld?
FRIENDS!
8. Are you a roadtripper? Do you use maps or just go where the road takes you? Where was your last adventure?
Not really, but I do love to explore around my city! I recently went to an event at the Pan Am Games, which was loads of fun!
9. How do you spend your Sundays?
Pre-Scheduling the upcoming weeks’ blog posts!
10. Can you juggle?
NOPEEEEE!
11. What is the one saying your grandparents always said that stuck with you?

“Don’t Say that!” (In Yiddish)

So, that was it for the 3 Liebster Nomination!

I seriously have nobody to nominate and have no questions to ask… OOPS!

Thanks again for the nomination, Tori!

Good Night Book Owls!

Liebster Award #2

Hi everyone!

Today, I’m sharing with you the 2 Liebster Award nomination post! Tomorrow, you will be seeing my 3 nomination post and next Wednesday you will be seeing my 4… oops!

This time around I was nominated by the lovely Sarah over at Written Word Worlds (try saying that 3 times fast!)!

  1. What was the last YA contemporary you read?

It feels like I haven’t read a contemporary book in forever! The last contemperary I read was Kissing in America by Margo Rabb, I sadly REALLY DIDN’T like this book.

  2. What book have you most recently stopped reading before you made it to the end and not bothered to pick it back up again?

The second Harry Potter book… which I still haven’t finished…

  3. Which book do you connect with the most?

Probably the entire Land of Stories series ’cause I love it!

  4. What book or series do you want to become a movie the most?

The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer would be so cool in live action!

  5. What is the book or series that you’ve read the most times?

The Land of Stories series, surprising right?!

  6. What is the book you’ve cried the most in?

    Allegiant by Veronica Roth… rrrrrr

  7. Do you have any books signed by the author and if so, what books are they?

Only one: Enchantment Lake by Maggie Preus! I won this book from a giveaway and plan on reading it really soon!

  8. Have you ever met any authors?

Sadly, no. But, hopefully tomorrow at Frenzy Presents I’ll be able to meet one!

  9. In your opinion, what is the most underrated or under-appreciated book or series?

The Land of Stories is my favourite Middle Grade fantasy series, and I’ve heard NOBODY talk about it whether it be on booktube or the blogosphere! In my opinion, it definitely deserves it!

  10. What’s your thoughts on slightly damaged/visibly read books? Do you like your books to be in pristine condition or do you think books with dog-eared corners or bended spines feel more loved?

I’d prefer them in perfect condition, but the books I bought on sale at my local library were damaged but I don’t seem to mind!

  11. What is the book you’ve been wanting to read for the longest amount of time but haven’t gotten around to reading yet?

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I started it the other day on my iPad Mini, but haven’t picked it up yet!

Thanks for the awesome questions and for tagging me, Sarah!

Now would be the time where I nominate 8 people, but all of my blog friends have already done this, so I’m going to tag people like how I normally would for Book Tags!

MY QUESTIONS:

What are you currently reading?
What is your favourite book?
Are you a fan of Suicide Books (ex. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher)?
Least favourite movie adaptation of a book?
Why did you start blogging?
Have you always loved reading, like since you were a child?
Do you watch booktube videos (?), if so who are your favourite booktubers?
Who do you think you got your love of reading from?
Do you listen to music while you read(?), if so what kind?
Other then reading, what do you love to do?
(The questions I always ask, since I’m to lazy to come up with more… oops)

Those are all of the people I’m going to nominate, but I nominate YOU if you want to do it! If you’ve already done this, leave a link below to your post, I’d love to check it out!

Thanks again, Sarah!

The story of a blog-time…

On December 8, 2013, I was a little girl with a big passion for books and the internet. At the time, I really wanted to start filling my time with something I knew I would want to do for the rest of my life. I’d always wanted to make YouTube videos, but at the time my parents never let me, so I decided to create a blog. Some where where I could sit down and talk about books. Only people who had my passion of reading could see this, therefore I wouldn’t annoy others with my book blabbering, although I know people who follow my blog enjoy my blabbering (hehe). Reading, reading, READING was created and I still enjoy writing in this blog since then. I will never stop book blogging because I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!

Advice…

If you want to make a blog of any sorts, I did a little “Creating a Blog Series” and you can read all of the posts, here. My biggest tip of advice would be to ignore all of the negatives and not worry. There may be times when you may think “Nobody is going to read this, so why am I wasting my time?” First of all, if blogging about books is something you love, it’s definitely not a waste of time. Secondly, people are reading it, even if it’s just one person!

I nominate:

Aneta

Ashley

Cristian

Thistles and Whistles

Stephanie

Amy

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post! Thank you again Alina, for tagging me!

Good Night Book Owls!

A little ramble about why life is beautiful :)

HI everyone!

It is currently nighttime, and I’m so full of positive energy I can’t even explain it.

After my blog hit 100 followers (we’re now at 102!), I’ve just been so happy! Probably the happiest I’ve ever been.

Life is great. People are great. Books are great. You are great. Earth is great.

I was exchanging some comments with Aneta over at Inspire Script, by the way check out her blog, she’s basically my new book blog bestie! And she was so nice and lovely and honestly so sweet!

I literally feel energy running through my veins.

I feel like people have good and bad days, but we all have to remember to live life to the fullest, and cherish every moment we get. And no, my blog is not about inspiration or motivation, but when I feel very happy and motivated, I love to share the feeling with everyone. Life is just such a beautiful thing, and you have to enjoy every last bit of it before it all vanishes away.

I was talking with my parent the other day (HI GUYS, I KNOW YOURE READING THIS), and I was telling them about my 3 favourite quotes at the moment…

  1. Some people are so poor, all they have is money.
  2. The difference between a successful person and a non successful person who do the same thing, is that the successful person takes all of the risks and all of the opportunities that the other has as well, but doesn’t take.
  3. Do one thing a day that scares you.

I think that some people need to really think about these things in life.

I know that this Sunday, I have the oppurtunity to go to HarperCollins Canada Frenzy Presents (experience and recap post will be up on Tuesday), and I’ll probably be the youngest one there and I’m nervous, but I know that if I don’t take this oppurtunity I’ll regret it for the rest of my life. Technically, this is related to quotes 2 and 3. And this amazing oppurtunity I have is all thanks to you guys! I wouldn’t be able to go to a publishing houses main office and have a meeting with 30-40 other amazing Canadian book bloggers if it wasn’t for each and every one of you. My book owls are awesome!

I hope that you guys enjoyed this little positive note.

Good Night Book Owls!

Disney Book Tag!

Hi everyone!

Finally, I have a TAG that I was actually tagged to do! Aren’t you impressed?! This one is probably my favourite book tag EVER! I’m a huge disney fanatic, and actually made a post about it and you can view it here.
Thank you to one of my favourite bloggers Alina @ Radiant Reads, for tagging me (quite a while ago may I add, but I guess better late then never, I suppose)!

#1. The Little Mermaid – A character that is out of their element, a “Fish out of Water”.

For this question, I’m going to say Alex from The Land Of Stories: A Wishing Spell, which if your new here, TLOS Series by Chris Colfer is my favourite series in the entire world, and you’ll probably see this book pop up in every tag! In the first book especially, Alex is basically an outcast in her school, until the make a venture into The Land of Stories, and she finds a place where she really belongs.

#2. Cinderella – A character that goes through a major transformation.

I think that Ji-Li Jiang from the memoir Red Scarf Girl went through a major transformation. This book is based on a true story, and you can find my book review, here. Basically, she went from believing one thing to another in about 5 years!

#3. Snow White – A book with an eclectic cast of characters.

I was going to write The Land of Stories series, but while reading Alina’s post, I have to agree with her; the Harry Potter cast is amazing! I still have yet to finish the series, and I have all of the books, so hopefully in 2016 I’ll be able to marathon/finish it for good!

#4. Sleeping Beauty – A book that put you to sleep.

The second book of Harry Potter… still haven’t finished it. Oops!

#5. The Lion King – A character that had something traumatic happen to them in their childhood.

Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles has been through A TON! By the way, Winter has to hurry up! And no, I don’t mean the season I mean the final book in the TLC series!

#6. Beauty and the Beast – A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful.

Me Being Me is Exactly As Insane as You Being You by Todd Hasak-Lowy! This book is huge but I LOVED IT! Thanks to Simon and Schuster Canada for sending me an ARC to review, check out my review, here!

#7. Aladdin – A character that get’s their wish granted, for better or for worse.

Probably Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars. There “wish” was to meet there favourite author and find out what happens to the characters. If you’ve read the book, you most likely know what I mean! Check out my book review, here!

#8. Mulan – A character that pretends to be something or someone they are not.

This was a hard one for me to think about, but I have to say Harry Potter. In the beginning of his life, he didn’t even know he was part of a “magical family past”. And although he wasn’t “pretending” (he didn’t know!), his cousin and aunt and uncle knew but didn’t tell him, so they pretended that he was just an ordinary boy, but we all know he isn’t!

#9. Toy Story – A book with characters you wish would come to live.

What do you think I’m going to say?! THE LAND OF STORIES!!!! No explanation needed.

#10. Disney Descendants – Your favourite villain or morally ambiguous character.

Definitely going to have to go with Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles series! Check out my review for Queen Levana’s back story book, here!

Learn more about the booktubeathon by subscribing to the official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/BookTubeAThon! It starts on August 3, and ends on the 9.

I will be following the challenges as best as I can (looking at this post now, I really didin’t follow them…) 🙂 (here they are):

2// Read a book by an author who shares the same first letter of your last name

7// Read seven books

The first book I want to read is Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley, this will take the challenge of a book with a blue cover.

The next book I want to read I actually won from a giveaway! It’s called Enchantment Lake by Margi Preus. This sounds really cool and I’m excited to read it!

Good Night Book Owls!

August TBR 2015!

Hi guys!

I feel like it’s been such a long time since I’ve sat down and just written a post. July has been quite the month for me. I’ve done 2 dance recitals at the camp I am at, while having about 6 1/2 sick days. Over the course of the past 4 weeks, I have only read one book, The Land of Stories 4 by Chris Colfer. And in no doubt, I can say that it was AMAZING! The series was only meant to have 4 books in it, but now will be expanded to 5. What am I going to do once it’s over?!

Now to the actual post, this TBR will be kind of WeIrD…
Technically, it will only be the books I will be reading from August 9-22. The 3-9, I will be participating in Booktubeathon, and I will be posting my TBR for that tomorrow. Then, the August 23-September 7, I believe I will be hosting a readathon, as I am on a break for 2 weeks from camp, as the 8 school will be starting for me! So, my TBR for my readathon, plus more info about it will be coming out shortly.

Finally, here are the books I am planning on reading…

I will be starting off with wrapping up The Hunger Games Series. I read The Hunger Games in January (check out my book review here) and I read Catching Fire in February, and LOVED IT MORE! It has been long overdue, and I’m finally going to finish up this series!

Next, I plan on reading The Iron Trial. I got this book at a local school bookfair (check out my haul from the bookfair here), and have been wanting to read this for a while!

Finally, I want to read To All The Boy’s I’ve Loved Before. Another one that I’ve been wanting to read for a while but I haven’t had time yet!

Those are all of the books I want to read in the “middle” 2 weeks in July! See you guys tomorrow!

Good Night Book Owls!
