Alyssa’s Reviews – Holiday Reading: Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to be reviewing one of my favourite holiday books! Let it Snow is a collection of holiday/winter themed short stories, that in one way or another, all connect.

Summary (made by GoodReads.com):

Sparkling white snowdrifts, beautiful presents wrapped in ribbons, and multicolored lights glittering in the night through the falling snow. A Christmas Eve snowstorm transforms one small town into a romantic haven, the kind you see only in movies. Well, kinda. After all, a cold and wet hike from a stranded train through the middle of nowhere would not normally end with a delicious kiss from a charming stranger. And no one would think that a trip to the Waffle House through four feet of snow would lead to love with an old friend. Or that the way back to true love begins with a painfully early morning shift at Starbucks. Thanks to three of today’s bestselling teen authors—John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle—the magic of the holidays shines on these hilarious and charming interconnected tales of love, romance, and breathtaking kisses.

“Tender without being mushy, these carefully crafted stories of believable teen love will leave readers warm inside for the holidays.”—School Library Journal

“Contemporary culture, humorous romantic developments and strong characters enhance this collaborative effort.”—Kirkus Reviews

Thoughts:

I don’t really know how to review this book, so I’m going to list my thoughts!

  1. I loved how all of the stories came together.
  2. I feel like the authors came together and worked hard on this book.
  3. The stories do not retell each other, they just simply feed off of one another.
  4. The beginnings were a bit slow, but quickly redeemed them selves.
  5. I would defitinitey re-read this book again!

I would highly recommend this book! I gave it 4.80/5 stars!

Good Night Book Worms!

  1. […] 2. Peppermint mocha: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year. I’m going to have to say Let It Snow, which is a collection of short story’s that all take place during the holiday season. You can read my review for it by clicking on this link: https://readingreadingreadingalldaylong.wordpress.com/2014/12/16/holiday-reading-let-it-snow-by-john… […]
