20 Books of Summer Challenge!

Hi everyone!

I am going to be participating in the 20 Book Summer Reading Challenge! Unlike last year, where I read only about 4 books in Summer 2014, I want to read A LOT MORE this Summer! That’s why I decided to join this challenge!

So, starting from 1 June and running until 4 September, I am going to challenge myself to read 7+ books, which I am now 1/7 done for this month, as I just finished Kissing in America this morning (review to come… don’t anticipate it…)!

Here is a list of books that I would LOVE and plan on reading this summer:

Here are just a few of the many books I plan on reading this summer! Again, I have already read Kissing In America by Margo Rabb, so that is already one book checked off of the 20! Just 19 more to go!

I would love to know if you guys are participating in this! Leave your post related to this topic down below, and I will be sure to check it out!

Alyssa’s Life: My Birthday!

Hi everyone!

As most of you know, yesterday was my birthday! Many of you wanted to see another Alyssa’s Life post, so I thought that it would be fun to make one for my birthday!

When I arrived at school, I found this on my locker…!

My friends decorated my locker for my birthday, and it was so cute! And yes… I’m only 13!

After school, I went over to starbucks to redeem my birthday reward! My favourite drink from starbucks is the “Cotton Candy” frappuccino, so I treated myself to a large one!

My parents and I than went over to my Aunts house to pick up my birthday gift! She, my uncle and cousins generously bought me a Kate Spade clutch, and inside they put in a $25 Indigo Giftcard, and a $15 starbucks card! My 2 favourite things!

At around 6:00, we went to The Pickle Barrel, and I had a Corn-Beef Sandwich with Yukon Gold Fries! I always get that there!

Alyssa’s Life: First Baseball Game

Hi everyone!

I’m going to start doing a few real life posts, and I thought that this would be a great way to start!

Today, I went to my hometeams’ baseball game: the Toronto Blue Jays!

We first went to Jack Astor’s for Lunch! I had the regular chicken fingers with the Yukon gold Fries! The meal was amazing!

We then went to the Newley renovated area outside of the Rogers centre. This holds souvenir shops, as well as the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium!

We then went to the apparel store. I bought a t-shirt and a zip up hoodie!

Finally, the game started!

We were sitting in the 500’s, but our seats were amazing!

We ended up getting a snack around the bottom of the fourth inning.

We stayed until the very end and we won 10-5!

I hope that you all enjoyed my first “Alyssa’s Life” post! Let me know in the comments if you would like to see one of these again!

Magnificent May: Quick Thought: My Views on Book Pirating

Hi everyone!

Today I’m going to be sharing with you my views on book pirating.

So, what exactly is book pirating?

To take (something) by piracy.

To make use of or reproduce (another’s work) without authorization.

Basically, it’s when somebody else thinks of an idea, and then you use it and receive all the credit for the book.

Like every other book blogger, I really do not like this idea. If you have an idea, use it yourself, don’t let others use it. I am one of the most empathetic people I know, and I feel that if I would do this, I would feel horrible for the other person. Although, knowing me I would never do it anyways.

Let me know in the comments below what your views are on book pirating. I would love to start a conversation!

Week of Readathons 4: Update 2

Hi everyone!

Today, I’m going to share with you my second update for the Week of Readathons 4!

So far, I have finished It’s Kind of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. The other day, I actually found out what happened with Ned Vizzini. If you don’t know what happened, feel free to research it. But, I will be doing a whole quick thought on it.

Since I have quite a bit of studying to do, I will try to tackle 2 smaller books. Those will include the first and last books in the Stargirl duology.

That concludes my Week of Readathons 4 update 2! Let me know what you are reading and what you have finished in the comments below!
