Welcome back to Reading, Reading, Reading!
Since June is almost over, it is officially book freak out time! For the past several years, I have always had a long reading slump/burn out that normally occurred during March and April, but luckily that didn’t happened, and thus my reading has been excellent to far this year!
Even though I wasn’t tagged by anyone to do this, I watched BooksandLala do it on her channel a few days ago, so I thought it would be fun to participate! Also, click on the title of any of the books I have read to read the full review!
What is the best book you have read so far in 2019?
The #1 book I have read this year is actually a tie between THE FRIEND ZONE by Abby Jiminez, THE STARTER WIFE by Laurin, and THE UNHONEYMOONERS by Christina Lauren! Hopefully by December I will be able to narrow it down to just one book!
What is the best sequel you have read so far in 2019?
I have actually not yet read a sequel in 2019! I have a few on my TBR for the second half of the year, so I hope to get to at least one in the near future!
What is a new release that you haven’t read yet but want to?
Hmmmm, this is a tough question! Off the top of my head, I thought of I KNOW WHO YOU ARE by Alice Feeny!
What is your most anticipated release for the second half of the year?
I have SOOOO many anticipated releases for the second half of the year! In fact, I just posted my “Most Anticipated Books of the Second Half of 2019”, which you can read here (click here)! My most anticipated on that list is A TALE OF MAGIC… by Chris Colfer, as The Land of Stories is my favourite middle grade series of all time, and I cannot wait to start this spinoff series!
What was your biggest disappointing book so far?
My biggest disappointing book of 2019 so far has been SCREEN QUEENS by Lori Goldstein.
What was your biggest surprising book so far?
My biggest surprising book thus far was AMELIA WESTLAKE WAS NEVER HERE by Erin Gough! I thought I would enjoy this book, but I ended up LOVING it!
Who is your favourite new author (debut or new to you)?
By FAR, my favourite new-to-me author is Nina Laurin! I recently read THE STARTER WIFE and absolutely loved it, and I am actually currently reading her 2018 release, WHAT MY SISTER KNEW!
Who is your new fictional crush?
My new fictional crush is definitely Josh from THE FRIEND ZONE!
Who is your newest favourite character?
My new favourite character is Kristen, who also comes from THE FRIEND ZONE!
What books made you cry?
I actually read a handful of emotional books that made me cry! Namingly, THE UNHONEYMOONERS, RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE, and THE FRIEND ZONE.
What is one book that made you happy?
Honestly, any book that I rated 4 or 5 stars made me happy! More specifically, THE UNHONEYMOONERS by Christina Lauren!
What is the most beautiful book you have bought or received so far this year?
The most beautiful book I have received so far this year is THE TEN THOUSAND DOORS OF JANUARY by Alix E. Harrow! I received this one from HBG Canada, and I’m super excited to read and review it later this year! In addition, I have to mention WILDER GIRLS by Rory Power! I love the cover of this one, and am equally looking forward to finally reading it!
What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
I need to read STEPSISTER by Jennifer Donnely and Nina Laurin’s previous books, among all of the other ARCs and anticipated releases I have!
