Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! As I write this it is currently Christmas Eve! Can you believe it? I wonder how the year has gone so far and if I’m still tackling my New Years resolutions! In June, you will see another book review that I wrote today, in fact I wrote it just a few hours ago. Oh the joys of receiving books early and scheduling posts! Anyways, let’s get started with the review for a fantastic book! As always this review will be spoiler free. I hope you enjoy it!

Summary:

In this powerful and buoyant YA novel, a thirteen-year-old girl learns to navigate the shifting loyalities of friendships in middle school and deals with challenges at home.
The beginning of the eighth grade is not what Anna thought it would be. Her lifelong best friend has ditched her for the cool kids, and her mom is in the hospital after a suicide attempt. Anna finds herself where she least expects to: living with her dad, his young new wife, and their baby, and starting a new year at school without a best friend. With help from some unlikely sources, including a crazy girl-band talent show act, Anna learns that sometimes you find what you need to pull you through in the most unlikely places.

Review:

Where You’ll Find Me is a beautifully amazing novel. I read it in one sitting, and it only took me a few hours to finish. It got me hooked on every page and I read and I literally couldn’t put it down! I have been on a real reading kick lately and hope to read a few more books before the end of 2015!
Anna Colette is a girl who is currently going through a lot. With a mother who just attempted suicide and a recently remarried father, plus the drama of being a middle school student, she has lots of thoughts going through her mind. Normally if the character in the book is in a middle school setting, the book will be middle grade, although it does not take place in her school and the subject matter is mature and I don’t believe is suitable for children of middle school reading level or thinking level. Anna is an interesting main character. I wouldn’t say that she is stubborn or obnoxious, but I wouldn’t say that she is the most loveable character either. She sticks with her gut and doesn’t forgive easily, which I really admired her for. In reality, I don’t like anyone to have conflict with me, so I end up always saying sorry to people, although Anna is not that type of person. Anna’s step mother Marnie was very nice and a very loveable character. Although she was much younger than Anna’s father, I found her very mature, especially for the situation she was technically dragged into. Anna’s father and mother were a complete different story. I really didn’t find either one to be terrible but loveable either, such as Anna. Which makes since, since she is their child!
The concept was very interesting as well. I will actually be graduating middle school in January (Grade 8), so I definitely understood some of the “drama” taking place. Although the story line wasn’t complicated, I really appreciated how there were many aspects to it. I loved how at the end of the novel I didn’t have any unanswered questions or any “enclosed wounds”.

Overall:

I really loved this novel and found the characters easy to connect to! I loved basically everything about this novel and gave it 5/5 stars.
