Losing Reading Motivation

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the late post, tomorrow’s will probably be late as well due to busy-ness with school!

Today, I’m going to be talking about losing reading motivation. I feel like as book bloggers especially, people think that all we do is READ, and that we never go into reading slumps. But, the truth is that since we run blogs/work with books, like any job it can sometimes get a little bit boring to read. Especially when books now a days are similar to everything else you have read.

It can be hard to get your motivation to read back, and if anyone understands this its ME. I haven’t been able to finish a books since August, and that always happens to me! After reading the new The Land of Stories book that comes out in the middle of July every year, I tend to not read anything else during the summer. Even though I tried to participate in the 20 Book Summer, it wasn’t motivating me enough to read.

I believe that we all have to accept the fact that we are not going to read all the time! Sometimes, taking a break from reading motivates me to read more in the future months/rest of the year.

I’d love to continue this discussion down in the comments with you about losing your reading motivation, as well as tips as how you get back to reading regularly again.

Good Night Book Owls!

  1. In my opinion , most of the time, when people loose their reading motivation, it’s bcz they don’t actually pick books that they like or are interested in ..
When i first started reading ( a lot ) i used to pick books that didn’t match my style, and i used to get bored and never got the chance to finish my books. Now, i know what suits me best, and that’s why i get excited whenever i buy a new book..
Hope this helps some people.. Anyway, i love your topic , and thanks for sharing this 🙂
