Hi everyone!
Today I’m coming to you with a SUPER EXCITING post! I and my Mom always make Hanukkah Sugar Cookies in December and they always turn out AMAZING! I thought that it would be so much fun to share the recipe with you, and even include some pictures of us making them!
Ingredients:
¾ cups butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2, ½ cups flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
Edible Icing
Cookie Cutters
Directions:
1.Cream butter with a hand mixer.
2.Add sugar, vanilla and egg to creamed butter until fluffy consistency.
3.Blend flour, baking powder and salt into the cream mixture.
4.**IF BATTER IS TO THICK, ADD SOME MILK**
5.Divide dough in half, chill for one hour.
6.Take half the dough, leave remaining in the fridge until it is ready to use.
7.Roll to ¼ inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
8.Place cookies on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375’ degrees for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown.
9.Cool slightly before removing from pan.
10.Use cookie cutters (dip cutters in flour, so dough doesn’t stick to the surface).
11.Decorate and use icing.
12.ENJOY!
***FOR THOSE WHO WISH THIS BATTER TO BE NON-DAIRY, ADD MARGRINE IN PLACE OF BUTTER, AND WATER IN PLACE OF MILK***
That is how you can make my Moms AMAZING sugar cookie recipe! Enjoy!
