My dad became a back-up scientist last year. My family was poor at the time, so it was a pleasure to hear that my father became recruited. He was one of the only people in our community that graduated with honours and a master’s degree in science. When my father found out that there was a job opening for a back-up scientist, we were absolutely thrilled. The pay is amongst the highest range, which we thought we be great for our family.
Although, hearing the news that the scientists predicated the wrong DDK, placed my heart lower than ever before. What would happen to us? What if my father was fined? What if he was fired? I don’t want to know the answers.
I guess when I come home from school this afternoon, I will find out.
